What is the Opportunity?
After a successful product launch and winning several large drinking water projects, the SiC Team is rapidly expanding its presence in the Municipal Water & Wastewater Market. As we grow, the Procurement Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and supporting our mission to deliver innovative silicon carbide (SiC) ultrafiltration technology to municipalities across North America.
The Procurement Specialist is a key partner in our growth journey, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and securing the materials and services that power our water and wastewater treatment solutions. The role is based in our Salt Lake City, UT location and will work on a hybrid (WFH/In-Office) full time schedule.
What is the role?
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Project Management teams to identify procurement needs for SiC water & wastewater treatment systems.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure competitive pricing for equipment, components, and services.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to support project schedules and successful system installations.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement in quality, reliability, and cost.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier communications and escalations.
Cost Optimization & Value Creation:
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.
- Implement best practices in procurement to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
- Support the SiC Team's commitment to delivering high-quality solutions at optimal cost.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to training and knowledge sharing to elevate procurement capabilities across the organization.

Does this sound like you?
- 3-5 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the water/wastewater treatment industry or related technical field.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data, perform cost analysis, and leverage insights for strategic procurement decisions.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges, troubleshooting issues, and implementing effective solutions
- Experience with sourcing mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and controls is a plus
- Knowledge of procurement principles, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Post-secondary degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or related discipline
- Ability to travel to supplier sites and project locations as needed
- Valid driver's license
