We are seeking a talented Project Manager to oversee wastewater treatment projects for our VAREC-Biogas division, from order acceptance to installation and equipment startup. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining profitability, managing delivery schedules, evaluating risks and contracts, interfacing with customers, and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects in the municipal and industrial wastewater markets. This role requires a highly motivated individual who possesses a keen eye for detail, outstanding computer and writing skills, and the ability to comprehend engineering and construction drawings, as well as essential engineering terminologies. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed project schedules for purchasing, fabrication, construction, inspection, and start-up to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion
- Focus on the customer experience throughout the lifecycle of the project to ensure a favorable experience for our end clients.
- Review all applicable job data, including POs, project plans, specs, and provide comments when applicable.
- Coordinate with other departments and Project Managers to meet scheduled task deadlines.
- Communicate promptly with customer on project schedule and any issues.
- Schedule and conduct project review meetings, focusing on scope of supply, cost, construction, and project scheduling.
- Advise Project Management and Project Engineers of project status while adhering to all appropriate policies and established safety procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering, construction management, or a related field; Strong work experience will also be considered in lieu of education
Required Experience
- 1-3 years of experience (including internships or co-ops) in project management or engineering design
Soft Skills and Competencies
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to build rapport and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to structure work effectively, manage resources, and maintain detailed records.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities from either work or school related projects (ASCE, ASME, etc)
- Must be able to communicate on a technical level, verbally and in writing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and results driven.
Technical Skills
- Excellent knowledge of common software tools (MS Office, especially Excel, Google Workspace, etc)
- Knowledge of principles of Project Management
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry related technical documents
- Design experience is a plus
Work Environment and Travel
- In-person at Huntington Beach office. This role involves periodic travel for factory training, collaboration with the Stafford, Tx factory team, client meetings, site visits based on project requirements, and company-sponsored events at corporate offices.
