What is the Opportunity?
After a successful product launch, which included winning several large drinking water projects, the SiC Team is looking to rapidly grow and expand its presence in the Municipal Water & Wastewater Market. The Field Service Technician (FST) will be a key customer facing role behind the growth of silicon carbide (SiC) ultrafiltration technology in the Municipal Water Market. The FST will be responsible for commissioning and supporting SiC water & wastewater treatment plants.
An effective and productive FST will work closely as part of the SiC Operations Team throughout the entire project execution cycles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical equipment, controls, instrumentation, and water and/or wastewater treatment processes. The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to have a significant impact in solving today's most pressing water issues. Preference for this role is in Austin, TX. Working out of a remote, other home-based location may be possible for the right candidate. This role will require approximately 60% travel within the United States and Canada.
What is the role?
- System Installation & Commissioning: Work closely with Engineering, Controls, and Project Management Teams to successfully install and commission SiC water & wastewater treatment systems. Perform mechanical equipment installation, electrical & controls check outs, and system testing prior to commissioning. Manage QA/QC documentation and deficiency lists to ensure a smooth and successful start-up.
- Customer & Technical Support: From installation/commissioning to operations, manage SiC plants and customers within a designated territory. Serve as point of contact with Ovivo's customers for service and technical troubleshooting. Work closely with our customers to effectively train and support their operations staff, focusing on the keys to successful operation of a membrane plant.
- System Troubleshooting: Help our clients solve problems to ensure our SiC installations continue to operate successfully. Investigate treatment process upsets, mechanical equipment problems, or PLC/HMI issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Does this sound like you?
- Recent graduates with a post-secondary degree in science, engineering (STEM), or a technical certificate in MEICA, EI&C, or water/wastewater treatment equipment are encouraged to apply.
- Interest in water and wastewater treatment, with a willingness to learn about MF/UF membrane systems and basic water treatment principles such as coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration.
- Eagerness to develop hands-on skills in field service, troubleshooting, and customer support through on-the-job training and mentorship.
- Eagerness to travel and spend time at job sites. Requires approximately 60% travel.
- Valid driver's license
- Valid passport or ability to get one
- Ability to climb on or around equipment, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 lbs) at times.
