The role is based at our shop located in Round Rock, Texas. Work hours are Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm and you must be willing to work in a non-climate-controlled facility. You will be required to travel up to 30% of the time to vendor facilities to inspect parts, process and facility.


What is the role?

  • Perform thorough inspections of large mechanical components and assemblies
  • Verify that components and assemblies match blueprints and are within given tolerances
  • Keep detailed documentation of inspections (written, photo, red lines)
  • Inspect parts and assemblies using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.
  • Check that the assembly and fabrication team adhere to standards and procedures and complying with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
  • Record inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re-work and wastes and input data into quality database.
  • Train the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
  • Propose improvements to the production process
  • Inspect product off site at our preferred vendors facilities
  • Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
  • Keep measurement equipment operating accurately and records up to date
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measure and mill thickness gauge
  • Assist in the development of test methods and inspection plans
  • Determine the causes of product defects and rework
  • Other duties as assigned

Does this sound like you?

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 2+ years experience working in a manufacturing/shop/warehouse environment preferred
  • 2+ years experience in a quality role/department
  • Must be able to proficiently navigate Outlook and Windows 365
  • Must be able and willing to work in a non-climate-controlled facility
  • Must speak, read and write English
  • Be able to sit, stand and crouch for extended periods of time
  • Have reliable transportation and valid driver's license to travel to vendors facilities to perform inspections
  • Be able to lift, up to, 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Forklift operator's license or ability to be trained
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Ability to read industry related documents. (blueprints, drawings, etc)
