What is the Opportunity?
The Associate Sales Manager is an entry-level sales development position designed to prepare high-potential individuals for a future Sales Manager role. Through a structured 6-12 month training program, the Associate will work closely with experienced sales professionals, engineers, and internal teams to develop technical, commercial, and industry knowledge required to successfully sell industrial wastewater treatment solutions.
The Associate Sales Manager will support customer development activities, learn Ovivo/Alar's products and technologies, participate in customer meetings, assist with proposal development, and gain experience managing opportunities throughout the sales process. Upon successful completion of the development program, the individual will assume responsibility for an assigned sales territory.
Ovivo-Alar is an established original equipment manufacturer of industrial and municipal wastewater filtration equipment, providing parts, chemicals, and technical support to our customers.

This role is based in our office in Mokena, IL and will enjoy a hybrid working schedule.
Domestic travel will be required (10-40%).
What is the role?
Sales Support
- Accompany Regional Sales Managers on customer visits, plant tours, and technical presentations
- Participate in customer discovery meetings and site evaluations
- Assist with opportunity development and follow-up activities
- Support strategic account planning initiatives
Business Development
- Research prospective customers and market segments
- Assist in identifying and qualifying new sales opportunities
- Support trade show activities and industry events
- Help maintain target account and prospect databases
Proposal Development
- Work closely with Applications Engineering and Proposal Engineering teams
- Assist with budgetary proposals and quotation development
- Learn system sizing, solution development, and proposal preparation processes
Customer Relationship Development
- Build relationships with plant personnel, engineering groups, and operations teams
- Participate in customer meetings and follow-up discussions
- Develop skills in consultative selling and needs assessment
CRM & Sales Process
- Maintain customer and opportunity information within CRM
- Track leads and opportunities through the sales process
- Support forecasting and pipeline reviews
- Other duties as assigned

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field

- Possesses strong presentation and communication skills
- Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to prospect for new business
- Is interested in a long-term career in industrial capital equipment sales
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with industrial customers and CRM's (preferred)
