Description

The IT Systems Specialist is responsible for restoring the end user's device to full operability when an incident occurs that renders the hardware unstable, damaged, destroyed, or exhibits degraded performance. Restoration includes the correction of hardware faults via repair or replacement in case of loss or damage, configuration of software loads, and transfer of user data to replacement device. Responsibilities include hardware and software installation and removal.


Tasks will typically be assigned to technicians via a ticketing system, but technicians will respond to phone calls, email requests or customer walk-ins.


HERE'S WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Install and configure software and computer systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware
  • Troubleshoot PC issues remotely
  • Walk colleagues through steps to help them resolve their technical problems
  • Support the implementation of new solutions or applications
  • Establish accounts for new users and assist with password or login problems
  • Troubleshoot general network infrastructure problems including networking equipment, printers, PC/Server hardware, etc.
  • Escalate to 2nd and 3rd level support on server or network related problems
  • Other duties may be added as defined

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS WILL INCLUDE:


EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL POSSESS:

Education

Educated to GCSE/A level or similar University Degree preferred CompTIA A+ Certification preferred, but not required

Knowledge/Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
  • Knowledge of computer peripherals and ability to diagnose problems
  • Experience in computer repair and networking
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Office Suites
  • Knowledge of Active Directory User and Computer management
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
  • Additional languages skills are seen as an asset

WILL I NEED TO TRAVEL:

10% travel domestic
