As an Assistant Controller, you will be an acting member of the management team and have broad responsibilities in the financial management of a manufacturing services business. This position will work closely with the senior executive team to ensure strong financial controls and will act as a key advisor to the senior management team.

The role is based in our Texas location and will be asked to travel occasionally.

  • Protect all corporate assets, control key access to the building and safeguard proprietary company property.

Position-Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the timely and accurate production of Periodic, Quarterly & Year End
  • Accounts for submission to the Corporate Head Office in Canada for consolidation under IFRS & Ovivo Accounting Policies.
  • Approve appropriate financial and management reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations and other KPIs.
  • Actively participate in the continuous development of the Ovivo business management ERP system SyteLine/CSI010.
  • Maintain and manage company Working Capital.
  • In all transactions, ensure that corporate risk is managed in line with corporate expectations.
  • Facilitate the preparation of budgets and forecasts and sign-off with Management Team.
  • Work with Corporate tax team on various tax matters related to the business.
  • Ensure timely cash reporting to corporate Treasury team.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecasting.
  • External liaison with Auditors.
  • Manage the local finance/accounting team.

Local Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the General Managers with strategies to achieve corporate goals and improve business profitability.
  • Conduct Contracts/Projects reviews with operational managers as needed to ensure accurate measurement of performance.
  • Provide information to Corporate Head Office for annual insurance renewal.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial and business administration including all accounting functions, auditing payroll, and entering in general ledger, balance sheet reconciliation reviews, cash management, and FP&A.
  • Managing Work In Process schedule to update management with project costing in real time.
  • Staff Personal Development Planning in conjunction with HR.
  • Continuous Positive Improvement of Company Culture.

Does this sound like you?

  • Minimum of 3 years of finance or accounting experience.
  • Public accounting experience or CPA preferred
  • Manufacturing experience, post qualification
  • Global corporate environment experience
  • Excellent work ethic with the ability to multi-task in a small company setting
